20° 56.54' N 73° 41.4' W 17 Mar 2018 14:30 None None None Underway for Jamaica/Panama. Friends have raved about Port Antonio on the north east tip of Jamaica. We may stop on the way. Had a very pleasant time in Great Inagua. Major changes with the Government Dock have created a very nice stopping point, although still badly exposed to the west. The dockmaster, George, is also the local radio DJ and a classic Bahamian. I really enjoyed wiring and installing his VHF and external antennae and then showing him how to use it. He was a happy man.
20° 57.307' N 73° 40.886' W 14 Mar 2018 12:51 15.0 None None Matthew Town Long Island. Wind did not cooperate for making it to Lantern Head. Will stage here instead for the Windward Passage. After a bumpy start the passage was a good re-entry to what's ahead for us. Felt good to celebrate our arrival with nice showers and a glass of wine in the cockpit.
23° 11.45' N 75° 25.06' W 13 Mar 2018 14:35 None None None Underway for Great Inagua. Went out Commer Channel from Salt Pond, Long Island and now heading between Long Island and The Jumentos. May be in for some tight motor sailing tonight. Weather is not as forecast. Prop shaft generator working pretty well. 5-6 amps at 6-7 knots.
23° 21.33' N 75° 8.93' W 12 Mar 2018 19:56 6.6 None None Good to be underway again. Had a nice beam reach in 15-20 over to Thompson's Bay, Long Island. Beautiful clear blue skies and temp in the 80's while our friends and family back home have to suffer through another Northeaster with 12-16" of snow. We get out share of snotty weather as well....we may get squalls with 35 knots tonight after midnight. Came here to get fuel since the fuel dock in Georgetown is out of action due to last summer's Hurricane. Once we get fuel and a window we'll start out for Great Inagua and then Panama.
23° 30.81' N 75° 45.059' W 24 Jan 2018 09:30 None None None Back in Georgetown after Xmas/New Years at home with family and friends.Great time but a bit cold and snowy. We moved out of our hurricane hole to an anchorage in the harbor. Shango survived the separation except for a misbehaving watermaker. Might need to order a part which is not aboard. Strong front supposed to come through tonight producing some wind, steady 25-35, for the next 3-4 days. We have a good anchorage with plenty of chain out. Good time for boat projects.
