23° 57.454' N 76° 18.716' W 31 Jan 2019 19:13 None None None Little Farmers, Exumas. Great beam reach in 18-22. Nice change from the cold. Met up with Tracen J in Georgetown and sailed with them. Plan to catch cruiser's festival here and then go up to Black Point for Super Bowl
23° 30.859' N 75° 44.667' W 09 Dec 2018 09:30 None None None Georgetown, Great Exumas. Yet another nice sail from Thompson's Bay and probably our last till we return after the first of the year. Georgetown sure is a beautiful harbor especially before the crowds arrive after New Year's. We're in our usual anchorage when we're here, Sand Dollar Beach. It is a bit less crowded than the other three major anchorages and has great access to a beautiful Ocean/Exuma Sound facing beach for some daily exercise. Tomorrow we'll check in to the Bahamas and see what's new in town.....and....try to get some internet to see what my Patriots did today.
23° 21.539' N 75° 8.339' W 08 Dec 2018 09:30 None None None Anchored in Thompson's Bay, Long Island with 3 other boats. We had a rip roaring sail from Great Inagua. Consistent 15-20 knot beam reach. Today we had several localized squalls which helped to wash the salt from the boat. We will probably keep on trucking to Georgetown tomorrow before Monday's cold front and start to make preparations for our return to Newburyport. We hope to be home in time for Amy's 12/18 birthday and our annual special dinner out. We'll be cutting it close. The trip from Panama presented more challenges, equipment and weather, than we had anticipated making our arrival to the Bahamas later than we thought.
21° 21.652' N 74° 0.487' W 07 Dec 2018 09:30 None None None After a great sail from Haiti's west end we anchored for the night in Matthewtown, Great Inagua. Amy woke with the idea of continuing on to Long Island so we would avoid any risk of getting stuck by an approaching cold front...not a good place to be with a cold front's west winds. So, we are on our away again today for Thompson's Bay, Long Island. Another ideal sailing day with 15-20 knots, small seas, and a beam reach. The Bahamas are treating us well so far.
20° 6.134' N 73° 35.938' W 06 Dec 2018 09:30 None None None We are through the Windward Passage! Much more wind last night than expected. We had a very lumpy and uncomfortable motor right into the wind. We finally rounded the western end of Haiti at about 6 am this morning and its been  a wonderful sail since. It is a beautiful day with 15-20 knots from the ENE which so far is allowing us to make Great Inagua. What a relief to be done with the trip north from Panama into Bahamian waters. Time to relax a bit and enjoy the climate, the water, and the beaches.
