WWWAAAHHHOOO!!! Jake and Jackie dinged over as Solstice headed in. I almost burst into tears at the sight of them. So great to be with Hokule'a again. The last time Solstice and Hokule'a were together was on the other side of the planet in Malaysia. We shared champagne and then went over to Hokule'a where Jake made an excellent pizza for us. Then it was off to the bar. Strangely the bar was very empty. Much different from the many Saturday nights we've had here in days gone by. So crazy to think Solstice and I are back here. Next stop Redondo Beach and home.||33° 26.917' N||118° 29.654' W||23 Jun 2018 17:20||None||5.0||179||Heading into Two Harbors.||33° 27.161' N||118° 29.307' W||23 Jun 2018 17:00||None||5.8||232||Rounding Bird Rock! It's beautiful.||33° 24.853' N||118° 21.459' W||23 Jun 2018 15:30||None||7.2||310||A SW breeze - Yahoo! Unfortunately it's less than 10 knots so to make Two Harbors before sunset I've been motorsailing all day. Lots of emotions running wild as Catalina began to be visible on the gray overcast horizon. I can't believe it - 7 years ago Solstice was sailing south on her way for an adventure of a lifetime. And here we are coming home. I'm excited.|
